One piece of storage is ours. Everything else waits for your permission. Here is the full list.

**Draft — have a lawyer review this**

This was written to describe accurately what this website actually does, and it references Ethiopia's Personal Data Protection Proclamation No. 1321/2024. It is not legal advice. Before you rely on it, have an Ethiopian lawyer check it against your actual operations — particularly if you process client data beyond this website.

## The short version

This site sets **one** piece of storage on its own: a note of whether you chose light or dark mode. Everything else — analytics, advertising, the map on the contact page — only loads if you agree to it in the banner. If you decline, none of it runs.

## What is actually set

### Necessary — always on

- **`rylo-theme`** — browser local storage, set by this site. Stores "light" or "dark" so the site does not flash the wrong theme when you return. It never leaves your browser and is not sent to us or anyone else.
- **`rylo-consent`** — browser local storage, set by this site. Records your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page.

### Analytics — only with your consent

- **Google Analytics / Google Ads (`_ga`, `_gcl_au` and similar)** — tells us which pages are read and which marketing brought you here, and lets us measure whether an advert produced an enquiry. Set by Google. Typically expires between 90 days and 2 years.

### Advertising — only with your consent

- **Google Ads remarketing** — allows us to show our adverts to people who have already visited the site. Set by Google.

### Embedded content — only with your consent

- **Google Maps** on the contact page. Google sets its own cookies when the map loads, so we do not load it until you agree. If you decline, you will see a placeholder with a button — pressing it loads the map for that visit only.
- **Cal.com** on the booking page. Our scheduling calendar is served by Cal.com, which sets its own cookies to hold your place while you pick a time. It is treated exactly like the map: nothing loads until you agree, and declining leaves a placeholder with a button that loads it for that visit only. You can also book on Cal.com's own site instead, in which case no Cal.com cookie is set on ours. Cal.com receives the name, email and answers you type into the booking form, and passes the appointment to our calendar.

### Loaded without cookies

- **Google Fonts** and **jsDelivr** serve the typefaces and one JavaScript library. Neither sets a cookie, but loading them discloses your IP address to those providers. This is required for the page to display, so it is treated as necessary.

## Consent Mode

We use Google Consent Mode v2. In practice this means the Google tag on this site starts in a **denied** state — no advertising or analytics storage — and only switches to granted if you accept. Declining is a real decline, not a cosmetic one.

## Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time:

You can also clear cookies and site data for this site in your browser settings, which resets everything including your theme preference.

## Do Not Track

Browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for honouring it, so we do not rely on it. Use the banner instead — it is unambiguous.
